Gite Chêne Tord, Vendee, France

Walk out of Gite "Chêne Tord" and find yourself in the most scenic part of the Vendee amongst rivers, lakes and forests. The gite is within the grounds of a beautiful bourgeois house which has recently been renovated by the owners who are now retired and enjoying living in France.

The Gite is a detached bungalow/chalet. There are no steps so it is suitable for a wheelchair. It has a separate kitchen and bathroom with shower cubicle and a large open plan living/dining/sleeping areas. If necessary the sleeping areas can be separated from the living space by closing the shutters. It has its own gated entrance, drive, garden and patio area.

The house and gite are within a large private and hedged garden which edges onto the forest of Mervent. The forest is great for exploring. The village of Mervent is within walking distance, as are three restaurants, bars, a shop, hairdresser, doctor, dentist, and tourist office. The views of the rivers from the house and the village are stunning.

You will find the gite a peaceful retreat from which you could walk, cycle, fish, swim and explore. There's a lot to do within the area and the motorway A83 is accessible just 15 mins. down the road. An information pack about most tourist attractions is available in the gite.
